How to Sign a PDF Without Printing It
Add your drawn or typed signature to a PDF and place it exactly where it belongs.
Printing a form only to sign it and scan it again wastes time. You can place a signature on the PDF directly.
Steps
- Open the Sign PDF tool and select your document. A preview of the first page appears.
- Choose how to sign. Draw with a mouse or finger, or type your name and let the tool render it in a handwriting style.
- Enter the page number if the signature belongs on another page.
- Click on the preview where the signature should go, and use the size slider to adjust it.
- Click Sign PDF to download signed.pdf.
Tips for a natural look
- Draw slowly on a phone or tablet. A touch screen gives a more natural line than a mouse.
- Keep the signature on the signature line, and make it about the size you would write by hand.
- For contracts with several signature pages, run the tool again on the signed file for each page.
This adds an image of your signature to the page. It is not a certified digital signature with a cryptographic certificate. Whether it is accepted depends on the organisation that asks for it, so check their rules for important legal documents.
Privacy
The document and your signature stay on your device while you work.
