Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two encode buttons?
Encode text converts everything unsafe, including : / ? and &, so use it for a single value. Encode full URL keeps those characters so the link still works.
Why does decoding show an error?
The text contains a % that is not followed by a valid code, so it is not valid encoded text.
Is URL Encoder / Decoder free to use?
Yes. URL Encoder / Decoder is free, with no sign-up and no usage limits.
Is my data sent to your servers?
No. The work is done in your browser on your own device, so nothing you use here is sent to our servers.
Privacy and safety
URL Encoder / Decoder runs entirely in your browser. What you enter or choose never leaves your device and nothing is kept after you close the page.
