How to Extract Pages from a PDF
Keep only the pages you need from a long PDF, using simple page ranges such as 1-3,5.
Sometimes you only need a few pages from a large PDF: one chapter of a book, the signature page of a contract, or a single invoice from a monthly statement. Extracting those pages takes less than a minute.
How page ranges work
In the Split PDF tool you type the pages to keep. Separate single pages with commas and write ranges with a dash.
- 1-3 keeps pages 1, 2 and 3.
- 5 keeps only page 5.
- 1-3,5 keeps pages 1, 2, 3 and 5 together in one new file.
Steps
- Open the Split PDF tool and select your PDF.
- Type the pages you want in the box, for example 2-4,9.
- Click Split PDF. A new PDF with only those pages downloads.
- Open it and confirm that the right pages are there.
Tips
- Check the page numbers in your PDF viewer first. The number printed on the page can differ from its position in the file, because covers and contents pages are counted.
- To get several separate files, run the tool once for each range you need.
- To reorder or combine the extracted pages with other files, use the Merge PDF tool afterwards.
Privacy
The pages are copied on your device. The original file is never changed, and nothing is sent to a server.
